new on streaming

By the time the weekend rolls around, staying in and watching a show are just about the only plans that sound appealing to me. I used to get excited about getting dressed up and staying out late, but I won’t lie to you, those days are over. Instead, streaming what’s new is now my idea of a wild Saturday night. I’m so committed to it, I’m even marking release dates in my calendar months in advance.

With all of the streaming services now, it can be hard to keep up with what to watch and where to watch it. However, this month, the lineups are so good that you’ll want to ensure you have a subscription to every platform, or at least your friends’ passwords. These shows and movies are about to be the sole topic of conversation in The Everygirl’s #watercooler Slack channel, and I’ll be damned if I miss out on that.

Cancel your plans and get comfortable because it’s time to hit “Play.” Without further ado, here are some of the most anticipated shows and movies that are new on streaming this month.

Netflix

XO, Kitty (Season 3)

Stream on Netflix starting April 2

While we’re waiting for our other romance shows to kick off for the summer, XO, Kitty season 3 is dropping just in time to get our YA romance fix. This season brings Kitty back to Seoul for her final year at KISS, where love triangles and tough choices are waiting. She’s growing up fast, but her heart keeps making things complicated.

Beef (Season 2)

Stream on Netflix starting April 16

The award-winning anthology returns with a new cast and a fresh story centered on a tense, escalating feud sparked at a country club. What starts small quickly spirals into a messy, emotional, and out-of-control story. I’m already looking forward to my heart rate spiking while watching.

Roommates

Stream on Netflix starting April 17

One of two movies coming up in 2026 from the Sandler sisters (yes, that Sandler!), Roommates, follows a shy freshman and her ultra-confident roommate whose friendship slowly turns toxic. Passive-aggressive tension builds until their living situation becomes an all-out psychological battle. Since the movie is produced by Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison banner, I know this one’s going to make us laugh.

Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 (Season 1)

Stream on Netflix starting April 23

Already missing Stranger Things? This new spin-off is just what you need. The animated series dives back into Hawkins. Set during a chilling winter, the gang faces a new supernatural mystery lurking beneath the surface—literally.

Running Point (Season 2)

Stream on Netflix starting April 23

Our queen of the court, Kate Hudson, returns for season two of Running Point. As the president of a professional basketball team, she navigates the egos of the front office and the chaos of the locker room. Staying in control is half the battle—but she isn’t afraid to try.

Peacock

Love Island: Beyond the Villa (Season 2)

Stream on Peacock starting April 14

While we wait for this summer’s seasons of Love Island to air, Beyond the Villa is dropping a second season, following the former islanders of Love Island USA Season 7 as they deal with real life, relationships, and fame after the show. The drama doesn’t stop just because the villa days are over.

Hulu

The Testaments (Season 1)

Stream on Hulu starting April 8

I’ve been impatiently waiting for this one! The highly anticipated sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale is finally here! The Testaments revisits the dystopian world years later through new perspectives inside Gilead. As resistance grows, the next generation begins to challenge the system from within.

Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair

Stream on Hulu starting April 10

Nostalgia is hitting us right in the face this month. Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair checks back in with Malcolm and his chaotic family, now older but not necessarily wiser. The same dysfunctional energy is alive and well, just with adult problems now.

Prime Video

The Boys (Season 5)

Stream on Prime Video starting April 8

If you’re looking for a little action this month, you’re in luck. The final season of The Boys is gracing our screens, cranking up the chaos as the fight between corrupt superheroes and the rebels intensifies. Expect even higher stakes, darker twists, and zero restraint.

Apple TV+

Your Friends and Neighbors (Season 2)

Stream on Apple TV+ starting April 3

If you love hearing about other people’s drama, let me introduce you to your new favorite show. Your Friends and Neighbors returns for a season 2, and continues peeling back the secrets of a seemingly perfect suburban circle. As tensions rise, relationships get messier, and the truth gets harder to hide.

HBO Max

Euphoria (Season 3)

Stream on HBOMax starting April 12

Euphoria returns this month, and if I’m being honest, I have no idea what to expect. But I know I’ll still be watching anyway. The series returns with a huge time jump as the characters face adulthood and its consequences. The emotional stakes are higher than ever, with past choices catching up to them all (Rue, I’m scared for you).
